Under the Sun … and some inspiration

this morning i looked through some of my last year’s art.. and found Under the Sun .. and i remembered my inktense pencils.. true… this artpiece is also mixed media.. but based on inktense pencils.. the background was mostly created using them.. and of course the birds, sun, clouds…

i have a large box of them.. and i love them.. their colours are so vibrant .. and so nice to work with.. so why haven’t i been using them?? honestly i don’t know.. i was a bit out of it.. for whatever reason… not too motivated.. kind of a funny mood..

well anyway… seeing Under the Sun gave me the push….. and i started on a new inktense pencils mixed media piece.. first i just scribbled various colours on my watercolour paper.. and then with water.. i created a first layer for a background.. as usual.. i have of course NO IDEA whatsoever where this is going.. that’s the fun of it……. let my inner child take over again 🙂 have a fabulous week all !

solitary sunshower……. simple and to the point

my solitary sunshower is open to interpretation…… yours. mine.. i have 🙂 but i rarely talk about my art… as i mentioned before.
to me the act of creation is actually more important than the finished artpiece. the creative process.. that is what gives me energy, good vibes, power, joy, peace ……. balance. .. makes me feel ZEN … when i started out.. i only managed to work on one artpiece at a time…. but now .. i usually work on several. once the creative process is flowing, it pushes me on.. to create more.. but then i am stopped because the paint has to dry… or i kind of lose the thread of one painting…… but there IS more so .. i start on a new canvas, paper or cardboard..
i am surrounded by various backgrounds.. work on one.. and suddenly an idea hits me and i realize.. it is for a different background.. so i continue there. sounds a bit chaotic doesn’t it.. well…… that is me. 🙂 my inner child is, as usual, having a great time and that is important to me.. that is how it works.. and perhaps that is why my art is so different in the sense that there is not ONE straight line in my style.. i jump.. here and there.. experiment and try out.. bounce back and forth.. grabbing hold of new ideas and giving them a try…….. happy happy inner child !

yes……….. we – my muse et moi – went very much outsider art / art brut yesterday….. she took me to my office … and i picked out a background which i had started creating weeks ago.. i LOVE creating backgrounds……… and just having them around me.. adding layers and textures… putting them aside….. and suddenly……… the creative spark hits me and i know… now the background is finished and we can take it from there….. and spontaneously the painting happens..

here i used mostly waxcrayons – neocolor – some inktense pencil and acrylics.. plus of course various papers, collage elements for the background, giving texture…
