… variations of a theme … abstract … thoughts

yesterday i created an abstract, which i called Sweet Dreams… today i used the same colors (well more or less, plus/minus one or the other)… and created a totally different abstract. did i ever mention that i love to play with colors? well i do.. my inner child does.. my muse approves……. so… we are all happy 🙂 i called this new one.. “Variations of a Theme” by which i mean the colors. they are the theme here… thus the title. so without further ado… let me show you my latest two artworks

see what i mean ? same colors, totally different art ……….. so much fun to create 🙂 my next plan is to go big… big with this style… needs some testing and trying out……… but i will get there. in the meantime i hope you enjoy my new style 🙂 my energy art as i call it.

let the colors speak … and i will stay quiet… sort of at least

i am doing two things at the moment……. art-wise that is. on the one hand i follow my usual chaotic style… but as of lately a new “style” has slowly crept in. a style that works purely with colours. no figures…. no trees, no people or houses…….. just colors…….. colors that say it all. i will show you some of those today… and let THEM do the talking … or … the whispering.. or whatever appeals to you… makes you hear them… sometimes… also the eyes can hear….. did you know that ? so…… listen carefully and i hope you will enjoy :).

as you can see… this is a novum for me. a novum in the sense that i can stick to one style alone… well two that is.. but this is the first time that something consistent is happening. i know therer is more… there will be more…… so come with me on my journey ……….. and let’s go for it, in colors….

so.. this looks like one happy snail to me.. small wonder.. isn’t it in a lovely field, surrounded by magical flowers? ok.. perhaps the snail would be a tad bit happier in a light summery rain ? well i am not a snail so i wouldn’t know. but… i personally LOVE rain.. yes of course, i also like the sun.. but give me a rainy day and i am happy 🙂 love the sound of the rain.. going for a walk in the rain.. and hearing the raindrops fall on the maples leaves right in front of my studio.. AND my bedroom (yes they both face the same side of the house) .. 🙂 the smell of rain as it hits the asphalt… walking in the woods in the rain.. that heavy earth-moss-mushroomy smell……… heavenly 🙂

this morning i looked through some of my last year’s art.. and found Under the Sun .. and i remembered my inktense pencils.. true… this artpiece is also mixed media.. but based on inktense pencils.. the background was mostly created using them.. and of course the birds, sun, clouds…

i have a large box of them.. and i love them.. their colours are so vibrant .. and so nice to work with.. so why haven’t i been using them?? honestly i don’t know.. i was a bit out of it.. for whatever reason… not too motivated.. kind of a funny mood..

well anyway… seeing Under the Sun gave me the push….. and i started on a new inktense pencils mixed media piece.. first i just scribbled various colours on my watercolour paper.. and then with water.. i created a first layer for a background.. as usual.. i have of course NO IDEA whatsoever where this is going.. that’s the fun of it……. let my inner child take over again 🙂 have a fabulous week all !

a new WIP and a photo

yesterday i decided to go for a walk.. a walk in the park… bally park to be exact.. a beautiful place.. close to where i live. it will be my last walk there for a while though.. since i am an “at risk person” … i will no longer venture outside but rather stay indoors.. and just go with the flow.

anyway… the walk happened… the WIP happened.. the other way round though.. FIRST the WIP.. late at night, the day before yesterday… then the walk. i don’t feel “stuck” indoors.. it is as it is, or as i said above… i just go with the flow. my muse is very busy i am glad to say… lots of ideas tumbling around in my head.. and i actually have ANOTHER WIP… but that is still very very early stages so no photos yet. but that will be a first for me.. it is BIG… 60×80 cm.. i never made anything that big before…… it is a bit.. awe-some.. but having a very pushy muse i know.. i will get there eventually.
