wow.. long break… but.. i am … Crazy About You Baby !!!

yes.. i was gone for quite a while… sorry about that ………. but i had a bit of a roughish time.. slowly getting better though… back to painting…… back to fun……….. joy……… experimenting and… just being creative.

in the meantime i also got quite a few new papers for my collages. i asked for paper contributions from my Facebook friends… and quite a number of them were so kind to send me new papers……… 🙂

before my “roughish time” i had started three paintings.. one i finished today… when i was “interrupted” .. i only had the black background…… and today………. wow……… creativity hit me and i finished it… here we go

… and the series continues ….

my outsider art is happily continuing… i am finding it more and more easy to let my inner child take over. mind you.. the controlling inner grown-up or critic always tries to get a foot in the door.. but as we go on it no longer feels threatening.. or even overpowering… it is possible to get that foot away and close the door to that critic.. that spoil-fun .. nagging, grumbling other side… not in a “brutal” way.. but in a gentle but firm manner. Telling it to stop right there, setting my boundaries and clearly.. drawing a line.. 🙂

…. and so the times are a changing ….

... or in other words... can you smell it ?? do you notice it ?? spring is in the air.. most definitely... yes it is still cold - around zero degrees centigrade - it's been freezing last week but now the temps are going up slightly... but.. the sky is blue and the sun is shining and there is just that SPRING feeling ... and that inspired me to a new series.. a new collection of digital art. yes i know.. i have been complaining about my computer being not equipped for really creating digital art... but i have the time to wait for it to "work" and do the necessary renderings ... taking it's own sweet time.. so i am going wild on flowers an blossoms.. and her are my first creations of that series 🙂 here is a list of where all these floral designs can be purchased.. … and then today, something new happened again …

i have several backgrounds i am working on.. but i also have some backgrounds i created and then just put aside.. not neglected, not forgotten… but just making room for new ones… so last night i suddenly found an older one.. one which i had created a few weeks ago..i added a few things.. and then suddenly it just happened… the paintbrush kinda took over…and the blue portrait was created… a portrait of a person in blue..

poor fella .. he does seem to be a bit intimidated by her… he would love to approach her.. talk to her.. but would she respond.. would she even be aware of him? fears and insecurity are happening big time .. but i hope he will gather up his courage and just.. say something to her. i am sure she will respond.. she is not as intimidating as she looks… good luck to him ! 🙂

a series within a series – Brain Surgeon

Brain Surgeon

This is probably a start into a new series within my cardboardart, which in itself is a new series.  … a set of weird characters … this is the first one, titled Brain Surgeon … two more backgrounds are in the works. These weird characters … where do they come from ? I encountered them on my latest journey and will talk more about them later. i had so many positive and wonderful encounters and experiences on this journey.. but of course, there is always a not so nice side to everything, and slowly this side is also showing itself, emerging from deep within my soul. which is good.. a relief.. part of the process of acceptance and integration. so it is important to me to be able to put these characters down on paper.. or rather, on cardboard. Why Cardboard? the sizes of the paintings will vary.. as i use used cardboard.. the edges might be slightly off.. frayed.. the sides might be a bit crooked because they are cut-outs.. they can be tiny and they can be large. the main thing is.. they are used.. there is energy in them.. they are not pristine like watercolour paper that hasn’t been used before.. is clean and proper, almost virginal .. but this material has been in different hands, used, with a purpose, like a skin it is protecting the “insides” .. the goods.. the wares.. that is why i feel i can paint on this material.. it feels liberating, encouraging me to just “let go”.

i am glad to say.. i am an optimist. it is a gift i have and i am deeply grateful for.. i have encountered many things in life which knocked me over – at first – .. but i always got up again.. and with all of my heart i can say.. life is great.. !! however.. as an optimist i have encountered prejudices.. such as.. you don’t take things/life seriously.. you are shallow… etc, etc. well let me tell you something………. NO. optimists are NOT shallow and do take things seriously.. also as an optimist i have my down moments.. my moments when i flip out.. get angry, upset, feel insecure, hurt, scared… pensive etc. etc.. … but as an optimist i know that life goes on, nothing is ever as bad as it seems, and there is always a gold-nugget in the sh**t-heap.. it might be tiny, but it is there…… waiting for me. and once i found it… i take it.. treasure it, and believe it or not, gold nuggets can grow or multiply. as to the sh**t-heap.. THAT i use as manure for my gardenplants 🙂
