CIRCUS

…. i like to doodle – as most of you know…. my doodling has “developed”… to the extent that i now have papers all over the flat and pens… or fine liners – as in this case – and when watching TV or netflix.. i just doodle on the side… scribble, scrabble, let the pen take over… not thinking what i am doing.. concentrating on the tv.. so these drawings come from realy realy deep inside of me… this one here…… i uploaded it yesterday and today already it is gone… sold to a collector in switzerland….. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to that 🙂 my CIRCUS already has found a new home 🙂

… and here is a very sketchy Giselle… one that doesn’t laugh …

Giselle the cow that doesn’t laugh is the full title (see below)… there’s a advert going around here in Europe – only ?? i wouldn’t know – about a laughing cow.. that cow advertises cheese.. and very well so cause it works.. the advert.. at least it did on me.. i love that cheese .. even today. i don’t know if THAT cow has a name… but mine does. Giselle.. as i was sketching her she looked at me and informed me that this was her name.. ok. nobody’s gonna argue with a cow. so here we go……….

… so then i realized something …

i noticed that as of late.. my art started feeling.. “stiff” .. not as spontaneous as it used to be… i thought too much about what i was doing. it felt like …. mh .. imagine a hand.. instead of being open and relaxed it was curled into a tight fist.. it happened several times that when i had finished .. or almost finished a painting.. i just overpainted the whole thing again .. using either gesso, black or white paint because i did not like it… it felt wrong, not me, so i wanted a fresh start. however, i don’t like that !!! ok.. my one excuse might be that i am going through chemotherapy.. that makes me feel incredibly tired amongst other things.. on the other hand, art is what keeps me awake, so to say… so i decided i needed to learn to let go again. instead of a tight fist.. i should open that hand and shake it lose… so… i brought my sketch book to the living room. placed it on the table and as i was watching tv the other night, i took that sketch book and a ballpoint pen … and just started drawing.. not really paying attention to what i was doing.. i just let go.. let lose.. i just went with the flow.. and it felt right.. and in the end.. THIS had happened… as i was watching TV …

… oh well now.. here he is…

one real mean alley cat named ANTOINE… all the cats in town are in awe of him.. fear him even.. he never loses a fight and knows no fear……… BUT … when ANTOINE sees and smells daisies.. oh my gosh… then this huge big, mean old alley cat turns in to a purring ball of furry sweetness… now there you see what flowers can do !!!

Sigfried the Flying Fish .. welcome to my happy art family !

may i introduce you to Sigfried…….. he is a very happy flying fish. he loves apples and so of course… he headed right for the apple tree when he got out of the water in the morning. unfortunately the photo is not all that perfect.. the vibrancy is missing a bit.. and the brightness of the colours… still i hope it is a painting that will bring a smile to your face.. happy weekend to all !
