… out from the deep… into the storm….

i know.. the title sounds a bit ominous. but it actually is a good thing………… cause this morning i did a very quick, “warm-up” exercise in my studio. … just out of the blue, totally spontaneous without.. thinking… and then this painting happened….. and a warm up exercise, turned into something very deep and meaningful… i called it…….. DANCING IN THE EYE OF THE STORM …… the idea behind it………. often in our lives with are confronted with stormy situations… situations that are scarey, seemingly overwhelming….not solvable… but they are. we should not try and fight the storm.. but listen to it… hear its rhythm.. its message….. and dance along with it. happy dancing 🙂

ooooooh… i am so happy!!! and another collage …….

ok.. now why i am so happy doesn’t really have anything to do with the collage i will be uploading…… but it just so happens that i managed to install.. or rather re-install my wacom intuos tablet YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !!! i haven’t used this for ages…… because my little notebook could not handle it… so it was just collecting dust in my bookshelf. but now… with my NEW computer…….. my PC…….. i can use it again. i found it yesterday in one of the moving boxes … and today.. i downloaded the driver…… and am ready to go now……. for creating digital art :)))))))))) sooooo happy about that.

of course……. i will not negelct my collages etc…….. but it is just one more tool that i can use for creating art… i think i can really say now that i am a multi-media artist ?? wouldn’t you agree ??

on a different note……. here is my new collage, again a hommage to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec …… i hope you enjoy this too…. it is still available btw…… 🙂

print 02

Print 002

for this print i was inspired by kintsugi, the japanese art of fixing broken pottery with gold. wabi-sabi: embracing the Imperfect. In japanese philosophy there exists the idea of “wabi-sabi,” the act of embracing the flawed or the imperfect. When kintsugi is used to mend together broken pottery, the cracks are highlighted, rather than hidden, as i did in my print .. the torn pieces are mended together with gold and thus highlighted.

this print is sold unframed ! for more info please check out my gallery on DailyPaintworks
