…. hurray … i finished them … and other goodies

no. i wont write much today. let the pics do the talking. first … my knitting… am i boring you? i hope not. my knitting is important to me… as i said… it gives me inner balance, harmony, i feel grounded and connected with God … and no that is not funny. it is a reality and true… i knit to be more in contact, aligned, open to God … spiritual knitting ?? ach yes… works for me.. might not for you … i dunno.

so knitting is one part – an important one cause.. i have people ORDERING SOCKS from me. you can do that too ya knows ? contact me through my contact page here and i will let you know how to go about it 🙂 but this is about knitting. now we talk art.. painting… mixmedia. it is not quite finished… some things are missing so i will not yet post it here. perhaps later. it does have two main figures in it… and for once.. no fish. the fish will still turn up, i am sure. ok. those figures are a chimera and a lion… wow. no idea what that is all about but it intrigues me… so i will roll my wheelchair to my working place, where i am crowded and barely have enough room.. but that is where i paint. oh goodness i am looking forward to moving the flat around. different story 🙂

….. i never thought … the zen of knitting

………..that i would actually knit… and SELL what i was knitting … this sure comes as a nice, wonderful, lovely surprise… because i LOVE TO KNIT. knitting is relaxing, meditative, grounding, it centers me … connects me to God, calms me, in other words, it makes me feel great.

why did i start ? i cannot even remember why.. just because … ah.. i remember.. my younger daughter was on the phone to me and we talked about .. no idea what… suddenly she said to me… mother .. you know how to knit. how about a pair of legwarmers … i was taken aback.. haven’t knitted anything in at least 30 years… and before i could say.. well no not really.. she said.. i would be so happy, thanks ma … well here i was stuck. not really sure i could do that… then…i bought wool. that is a must. no synthetics here.. BIG NO !!! … so i ordered wool… too much of it – of course but better too much than too little. so i ordered it, plus knitting needles.. plus one or the other accessory i need. so 2 days later my wool arrived… i felt so insecure… can i really do that? well i could … not the first round because my daughter didn’t want to have a checkered texture on one side and not on the other… so back to knitting and adding another checkered texture so that it looks just about the same. … my socks never do… look the same. i prefer wild intuitive socks…well to make a longish story short… my daughter loves her legwarmers and i hope my customers and friends will all like the bobbisox i will knit for them .. mimusox are on their way to rule the world … ha haaaaaa ! lol 🙂

Pattern of a Life

what more can i say.. this is me. with energy circles….. jumping up and down… playing snakes and ladders, letting my inner child take over… be creative, paint….. draw…… LIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAAAAAAAAAAA !!! mais oui, c’est moi… it is me.. there are tears, there is sunshine… there are bubbly moments, stern moments…. ladders to climb up.. ladders to climb down.. there are caves and shady places.. there is sunlight and brightness… this is the way to live. let your inner child live, don’t forget that child inside of you…. give it space to grow, to be creative, have fun… and life will be so much easier to live :))

my two weeks of radio therapy are over…. i feel a bit less tired… though those strong pain meds still make me a bit drowsy.. but slowly i am getting used to them and soon i will be able to drive again. met my new physiotherapist today and i just know we will get along just fine..

meanwhile…. my inner child is having a ball……. because we are about to start on a new painting…. yayyyyyyyy to that 🙂

i love creating mandalas… and if you should decide to follow the link to pixels com  you will see 3 different types in one gallery…. two are created as mixed media art… one is created digitally. 2 are more traditional in the sense… more geometric… whereas this one here is free flowing.. whirling around.. energy emanating.. spreading positive vibes and good energy. the circles are only hinted at… the forms and shapes are mostly abstract.. but not all of them. creating mandalas is very meditative.. healing and soothing..

i caught a ray of sunshine in my bedroom !

… strange title you might think… but it is the truth… this is a snapshot of a sunray shining through the shutters of my bedroom.. now, about 30 minutes later, the sky is covered with dark clouds and it looks as if we will be having a thunderstorm. fine by me 🙂

but this ray of sunshine was very special to me this morning … it was symbolic, a strong, positive sign …… i got wonderful news from a close friend, that finally a chemo is working for him 🙂 🙂 🙂 … i also got up this morning and almost had no pain in my leg :)))))))))))) (yes that is why i did not paint lately, sitting on a chair was impossible .. ) , i felt energized, empowered, strengthened, … this sunray brought hope, joy, peace, harmony… THANK YOU for giving me this sign 🙂 🙂 🙂

.. this painting i created in memory of a dear friend of mine.. who sadly left this realm in april of this year. she and i have been friends for several years.. lisa was also an outsider artist.. and we never met personally.. we only exchanged emails.. messages on fb .. well the usual. friendships can grow.. even if you never meet in person. i am lucky to have a few such friends all over the world. yay to the internet for that.

the downside is.. that usually – apart from email address and fb account – there is no more info that we have. even if you exchange photos, art, ideas, thoughts… we rarely have a phone number.. or an address. in lisa’s case i did have an address because, as i mentioned, we swapped our art. so anyway.. one day.. you have a friend.. and next day.. this friend vanishes. ok.. lisa has been very sick.. and our contact became a bit less frequent over the past few months. she was in hospital on and off.. had treatments and procedures.. but we would stay in touch. not worrying if several weeks would pass without a word. now though.. i did have a bit of a funny feeling… and eventually i started looking for a phonenumber….. thanks google for that. imagine my shock when what i found was….. her obituary… ! 😦 … only 3 weeks after our last correspondance… she moved on.. to another realm……… yes, i was shocked.. yes i was sad. i did not feel like painting or creating any type of art for the past few days…… you migh have noticed. and then suddenly my muse took me to my studio… and this painting happened.. in memory of my dear friend lisa.. who was so fond of flowers.. nature… i feel blessed to have known such a wonderful person ♥

been working on this for a couple of days.. useed wax crayons.. on top of the – mostly – acrylic background .. also added some ink for washes but also to paint.. i felt very quiet and relaxed whilst working on this. it has a soothing effect i think.. meditative… zen..

.. this is just one corner in my studio… but the one i spend most time in… it’s night next to the window where i can see a maple tree, it’s branches actually touching the window.. and of course the neighbouring house…. anyway… i work at this table.. have lots of my stuff on it but of course not all of it.
image 1 shows you one of my shelves where a small part of my stash can be found.. papers i collected and keep in boxes.. paints, pastels, waxcrayons, stencils .. and more.
image 2 shows you a wip i started the day before yesterday… on cardboard.. and with one coating of black gesso to start with….. been adding some papers and wax crayon.. acrylics.. and will wait and see where it takes me 🙂
images 3, 4 and 5 .. yes you guessed correctly….. some of my cardboard stash 🙂 images 3 and 4 are the same box.. i will cut it up and can make several paintings from one box.. the small tiny bits i can use as collage elements in other paintings. ..

a new WIP and a photo

yesterday i decided to go for a walk.. a walk in the park… bally park to be exact.. a beautiful place.. close to where i live. it will be my last walk there for a while though.. since i am an “at risk person” … i will no longer venture outside but rather stay indoors.. and just go with the flow.

anyway… the walk happened… the WIP happened.. the other way round though.. FIRST the WIP.. late at night, the day before yesterday… then the walk. i don’t feel “stuck” indoors.. it is as it is, or as i said above… i just go with the flow. my muse is very busy i am glad to say… lots of ideas tumbling around in my head.. and i actually have ANOTHER WIP… but that is still very very early stages so no photos yet. but that will be a first for me.. it is BIG… 60×80 cm.. i never made anything that big before…… it is a bit.. awe-some.. but having a very pushy muse i know.. i will get there eventually.
