… from traditional to digital ….

hi everybody

it’s been a while … sorry for not communicating … life happens….. ART happens……. and since art IS life… yes well that would take us too far now 🙂

hope you are all doing well… and just a few infos. i sold 3 paintings… i got a commission to do one in the Bird & Apple Tree style, sold another small one….. AND changed my hair style……. LOL.. from waist-length to an almost shaved head.. bald is beautiful my friends ! i was interviewed this morning….. YAY … and there will be a publication of this interview – yeah kinda logic… – but it will be in german…. mh.

apart from that.. all is well.. and now… this is what the header is all about. i did this painting in the traditional style… all in acrylics in fact, on cardboard… recycling art rocks ! .. a fish… painted on a piece of cardboard, which originally was a box for catfood….. ha ha…. kind of ironic isn’t it. so it was one fish at first… then i digitalized it.. and had the idea of mirroring it… and editing it a bit more in my various programs… and my painting went from the original “3-Auge / 3-Eyes … to the zodiac sign of PISCIES …….. i like it myself to be honest… the tribal quality it has. i love fish.. as you all know.. love to paint them.. but right now i am working on a new cardboard-art piece.. another theme i love.. houses.. villages, cities… and life there….. you’ll see.. i will publish it for you once it is done.

.. three blind mice .. lalala.. only these 3 aren’t blind at all …..

a bit of fun again… my inner child having a ball. the grown up me had this idea for a new painting… and my inner child immediately picked up on it….. and tadaa here are those three mice.. a family of mice going for a stroll during a fullmoon night. the first positive comment on facebeook said … that my art makes her smile. what a wonderful compliment. there is enough bad stuff around us… and smiles are so important. so this is my way of giving smiles to people. i hope it works..

… an now, back to the garden …

here is my latest piece of art… from down below sealevel – see my previous blog entry – now we land in a garden.. my inner child makes us land there… in this – i have to say so myself – lovely monlit garden.. where a row of tulips is bathing in the light of the full moon… some nightcreature is flying towards the garden on the far right.. an owl perhaps ?? i don’t know, and the creature is not defined .. so let us just leave it as it is… flying into the night….

… a small drawing on cardboard .. and a story to go with it ……. in english and german …

as every morning, FIX the small terrier-mix – to the right in the drawing – joggs happily to the dog meeting place, as there is always stuff to explore, new smells and odours, tracks that need to be checked out .. and of course friends to meet.. friends with whom stories can be exchanged.. such as….. the other day…. the story about that cheeky little cat who dared to enter the dog meeting place.. ! what an upheaval that created.. the cat probably didn’t even realize what would happen… pure chaos erupted and the cat only managed to escape by taking a courageous leap over the high wall right next to the fountain. yes.. such were the stories that were exchanged and then……….
UPS …….. FIX stopped in his tracks… who is THIS ??? there she sits… right in front of him.. gives him a shy look .. and he just stands there.. thunderstruck, his little heart beating madly, not capable of moving even a fraction of an inch….. the girl doggie of his dreams ♥ ♥ ♥ …….
up on the hill… the shaggy sheepdog has watched this magic encounter ….

wie jeden morgen trabt FIX, der terrier-mix – rechts im bild – voller tatendrang zum hundeplatz. da gibt es für ihn immer viel zu entdecken.. neue gerüche, die man sorgfältig erkunden muss.. kumpels die man wieder trifft.. und mit denen man geschichten austauschen kann.. so wie z.b. neulich, als sich einfach eine freche katze auf den hundeplatz gewagt hatte.. das war vielleicht eine aufregung ! die katze hatte wohl gar nicht realisiert, auf was sie sich da einliess. es herrschte das pure chaos und die katze konnte sich nur mit einem gewagten sprung über die hohe mauer neben dem grossen brunnen aus der gefahrenzone retten.. ja also.. solche geschichten tauschte man aus… und dann………

……………… ups… FIX bleibt stehen….. wer ist denn DAS ?? da sitzt sie… vor ihm….. blickt scheu zu ihm rüber……. und er steht da, erstarrt, wie vom blitz getroffen……. sein herz rast wie wild.. aber er kann sich nicht bewegen.. seine traumfrau…….. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ………….

oben auf dem hügel sitzt der zottlige hütehund.. und beobachtet das ganze….. diesen magischen moment …….

.. this is just one corner in my studio… but the one i spend most time in… it’s night next to the window where i can see a maple tree, it’s branches actually touching the window.. and of course the neighbouring house…. anyway… i work at this table.. have lots of my stuff on it but of course not all of it.
image 1 shows you one of my shelves where a small part of my stash can be found.. papers i collected and keep in boxes.. paints, pastels, waxcrayons, stencils .. and more.
image 2 shows you a wip i started the day before yesterday… on cardboard.. and with one coating of black gesso to start with….. been adding some papers and wax crayon.. acrylics.. and will wait and see where it takes me 🙂
images 3, 4 and 5 .. yes you guessed correctly….. some of my cardboard stash 🙂 images 3 and 4 are the same box.. i will cut it up and can make several paintings from one box.. the small tiny bits i can use as collage elements in other paintings. ..

poor fella .. he does seem to be a bit intimidated by her… he would love to approach her.. talk to her.. but would she respond.. would she even be aware of him? fears and insecurity are happening big time .. but i hope he will gather up his courage and just.. say something to her. i am sure she will respond.. she is not as intimidating as she looks… good luck to him ! 🙂

mixed media on cardboard. what can i say about this little fellow.. apart from that he seems to be happily asleep, dreaming happy dreams.. of houses and clouds, of stars and flowers….
the – used – cardboard has been gessoed to protect the colours but also the cardboard itself.. i have applied various layers of paint, added papers, used acrylic paint and acrylic markers. the size of my artwork is 20.5×29.5 centimeters or 8.07×11.61″ .. and yes, the original is for sale. however, there are also prints available.. and various products with this image, which can be found in my online stores – for info please go to buy my art .
