Hello my Friend 🙂

I’m glad you like her  a buxom country woman … yes that’s what she seems to be..mmmmmh… but did you notice the scale pattern on her dress? Is it even a dress,  is it a fabric pattern … or could they be proper fish scales … making her a mermaid in disguise?? An elderly,  buxom one, but also mermaids grow older … 😉

and that is how this painting got it’s title……. MARGUERITE A BUXOM MERMAID. because yes… also mermaids grow older and expand a bit, well some do, others don’t. it is the same everywhere 🙂 so here she is…. Marguerite. i think she enjoys visiting our world, enjoys being in contact with humans… her family is big, but her children have moved out of their home, got married and had children of their own… same story everywhere. but Marguerite had one big wish … and that was getting in touch with us humans. her disguise is…. very down to earth 🙂 not what you expect a mermaid to look like. but then, how should mermaids look ? does it always have to be ‘glimmerglimmerglitzy? no certainly not. Marguerite likes her disguise, she sells fish on the market… and she is happy to be know as Marguerite, the fishmonger, and that is that….

5 Happy Fish Swimming to Town

so here they are. more fish……. 5 of them exactly… all very happy looking. well of course… they are off to town on a shopping spree! which fish wouldn’t look happy ?? well……. me for one…….. if i were a fish. i hate shopping sprees. if i want my shopping done.. i do it online…. OR……. dash into the store, get what i want and out i go again. yes, i am a definite anti shopper LOL. if others enjoy.. fine by me of course, as long as i am not dragged along……..

…. i continue on my watery journey in a very minimalistic way… but let me warn you… it will not continue in this manner. the next “fishy” painting is almost finished and it is anything BUT minimalistic. i hope you will enjoy this……. and also the next one… which is not quite finished yet.

of course, this is for sale… and the best place to look for it is at Saatchi Art , where i also have a small gallery. and there you’ll see, that my hair is really gone…… partly due to the chemo therapy, but partly also because i got so annoyed with the “quality” of my hair, that i decided to get rid of it. i like my head like this 🙂

darn it all… i did it again………

i wrote my blog…. wanted to preview it……. DID preview it….. went back.. and lost the whole entry. do i hear laughter out there ?? NO… it is NOT FUNNY……….. well….. not really. it annoys me.. just a bit… and yes it is a bit funny too.. i have to admit 😀 so…. here we go….. once again below sea level.. my muse is dipping and diving….. going here and there… in the water ….. out of it…. into the desert ? who knows.. we shall see. working on two paintings right now….. first the fishy one……..

two totally different paintings. yes……. no ?? no….. not really. compare them… the shapes, forms… energy coming from it…… is the one below the abstraction of the one above? could be… yes… no ? let me know what you think 🙂
and yes….. i will finally start creating a homepage here…. it IS high time… i have to admit 🙂

not complaining…. just a little info.. some fish and a princess

oh my.. it has been ages since i last was here. just a little update… they discoverd a tumor in my spine… along the 1st and 2nd lumbar vertebrae and that bugger is pressing on the nerve canal. now THAT is the reason why i haven’t been here in a while… this little bugger is the cause of my pain and makes it almost impossible for me to sit… at least for any length of time. i did discover that sitting on my bed is possible (it has a memory foam mattrass, it is a hospital bed)…so for the moment i am creating small art with acrylic markers 🙂 that is fun. as to the little bugger in my vertebrae… i will go for radiation treatment, so i hope the nerve pain will get a little less 🙂

OOOPS !!!!! subtitled… SH** happens …

well now….. this is my latest mixed media collage… mostly collage with some acrylic markers, lots of gesso and of course… acrylic medium…. sized…. 24 x 17 cm which is… 9.4 x 6.6 inches……

a little bit of a newish kind of style for me.. or at least let’s say a different approach. due to my bone cancer i cannot sit for too long… which is a bit of a challenge when you want to work – and no, i cannot stand for long either……. so…….. ?? a challenge, i have to find a new way to create, meaning …………… i have to work QUICK…… almost like a sketching… i start off with the gesso background….. then go on to the various layers of papers – where i included some of the new papers i got from my friends btw ……. – and then when the background is prepared… i took the markers and worked quickly. i had finished the slower process of background… slower because of course the various layers have to dry properly……. then i suddenly SAW the finished collage……. sat down and finished this new piece of art 🙂 i hope you like it. the title is OOPS !!! cause you can see what is about to happen… and if you look to the left upper corner.. there is this little pink fishie… obviously grinning and just waiting for it to happen… ….. YES.. we will get rid of this big bully… sh** happens …. karma is about to hit home… good riddance… that is all i can see in this little fishie… you too ??

OOPS !!!

… from traditional to digital ….

hi everybody

it’s been a while … sorry for not communicating … life happens….. ART happens……. and since art IS life… yes well that would take us too far now 🙂

hope you are all doing well… and just a few infos. i sold 3 paintings… i got a commission to do one in the Bird & Apple Tree style, sold another small one….. AND changed my hair style……. LOL.. from waist-length to an almost shaved head.. bald is beautiful my friends ! i was interviewed this morning….. YAY … and there will be a publication of this interview – yeah kinda logic… – but it will be in german…. mh.

apart from that.. all is well.. and now… this is what the header is all about. i did this painting in the traditional style… all in acrylics in fact, on cardboard… recycling art rocks ! .. a fish… painted on a piece of cardboard, which originally was a box for catfood….. ha ha…. kind of ironic isn’t it. so it was one fish at first… then i digitalized it.. and had the idea of mirroring it… and editing it a bit more in my various programs… and my painting went from the original “3-Auge / 3-Eyes … to the zodiac sign of PISCIES …….. i like it myself to be honest… the tribal quality it has. i love fish.. as you all know.. love to paint them.. but right now i am working on a new cardboard-art piece.. another theme i love.. houses.. villages, cities… and life there….. you’ll see.. i will publish it for you once it is done.

… so it looks… like this is not a one-time thing ….

yayyyyy.. it’s another happy fish……. a smiling one.. of course.. another one in my fish-series.. if you can call it that.. it just swam my way this morning and tadaa after a while.. this little happy fish became visible on a piece of paper.. so yes… it is for sale of course.. just contact me for info.. it is very affordable.. it is only uhm.. 12×16 centimeters big.. which would be… OH GHOSh .. something like.. 4.7×6.2 inches…….. so now.. here we go

… so then i realized something …

i noticed that as of late.. my art started feeling.. “stiff” .. not as spontaneous as it used to be… i thought too much about what i was doing. it felt like …. mh .. imagine a hand.. instead of being open and relaxed it was curled into a tight fist.. it happened several times that when i had finished .. or almost finished a painting.. i just overpainted the whole thing again .. using either gesso, black or white paint because i did not like it… it felt wrong, not me, so i wanted a fresh start. however, i don’t like that !!! ok.. my one excuse might be that i am going through chemotherapy.. that makes me feel incredibly tired amongst other things.. on the other hand, art is what keeps me awake, so to say… so i decided i needed to learn to let go again. instead of a tight fist.. i should open that hand and shake it lose… so… i brought my sketch book to the living room. placed it on the table and as i was watching tv the other night, i took that sketch book and a ballpoint pen … and just started drawing.. not really paying attention to what i was doing.. i just let go.. let lose.. i just went with the flow.. and it felt right.. and in the end.. THIS had happened… as i was watching TV …
